Bronte Costello

My artwork looks at capturing impermanence, sometimes evoking melancholy or nostalgia for things we have lost or cannot change.

Recently I have been experimenting with creating aerial landscapes of planetary surfaces, portraying the earth as an eternal process of life and death. I use texture to depict tension, suffering, destruction and endurance.

I am exploring themes of philosophy; morality, reality, perception, reflection and the self, questioning purpose and place in the world. Art has been a form of expression for me to become introspective, translating my inner world using materials, creating marks that reflect my subconscious.  .
