As a native Moroccan, I believe I can offer a unique perspective on designing residential, commercial, retail and hospitality interiors. I have a passion for infusing organic shapes and curved lines into my concepts. I strive to implement principles of sustainability and innovation into my work. I am a very dedicated and always eager to learn more and approach challenges with an open mind and enthusiasm to create space that is functional and memorable.

I am a Canberra-based interior designer who takes pride in my ability to transform spaces by bringing ideas and inspirations to life. Through two years of learning through my studies for an Advanced Diploma of Interior Design and hands-on experience in the industry, I have developed a keen understanding and eye for creating awe-inspiring surroundings.

I am also adept in finding creative ways to help budget-conscious clients design their dream spaces. I pay close attention to detail and believe I possess a skillset ready for use in the design industry.

Passion has continually driven my desire to explore the world of Design. Striving to create spaces that are both unique and functional; each personalised specifically for a client, I hope to continue to evolve my style in a professional and ever-changing way.

Studying interior design at CIT has allowed me to creatively explore my passion for colours and shapes, and channel them into interior spaces that are function, flexible and catered specifically to each individual client and brief.

My personal belief in the role of design in this world can be summarised through the words of Frank Lloyd Wright, “Architecture is life, or at least it is life itself taking form, and therefore it is the truest record of life as it was lived in the world yesterday, as it is lived today, or ever will be lived.”

Creativity has always been an inborn need for me.  I recognise the need to combine aesthetics with functionality, and love the challenge of melding form with function.  Incorporating environmentally sustainable design principles is also important to me.

My Interior Design journey began with a positive outlook and a big passion for residential interiors. After some exposure to the design industry and the many talented designers within it, my passion for Interior Design had grown and I loved the many creative aspects that commercial, retail and hospitality interiors had to offer.

My decision to leave behind a career in IT to pursue design has been a conscious leap to follow my lifelong passion.  I am inspired by beautiful spaces that evolve from human-centred design, and I am excited when good design positively influences behaviour and well-being.  For me, design is the perfect balance between the creative and the technical.

I’ve been interested in art and design my entire life and have always enjoyed drawing and creating.  With a passion for interior design and architecture, I absolutely love the process of designing unique and exciting spaces.  I am particularly interested in residential design, as I believe the spaces we call home to be incredibly vital and central to our lives.  I find it wonderful and fascinating the way in which design can transform a space into a comforting refuge and space of protection.

Starting my career as a scientist I fulfilled my creative potential on the side with visual art. I finally bit the bullet and decided to study again to do interior design - a course I wish I had done at the end of year 12. Interior design is the perfect career choice for me as it offers an exquisite balance between scientific precision and creative flair. I have lived in both London and New Orleans for extended periods and have a passion for travelling and exploring new cultures.  I find that I can draw inspiration from these adventures.

This year I have graduated from CIT Reid, ACT obtaining a Diploma of Interior Design.  I love colour, designing and problem solving particularly in the residential market.  With sound people skills I am looking forward to working in the design industry.
